My Story

I’m Kondwani Jere, a storyteller and artist from Malawi, whose work is deeply rooted in the rich cultural landscapes of Africa. Through images, I explore everyday moments and the complex interplay of humanity and nature. This space is where my thoughts, passions, and personal projects converge. My journey into documentary photography and mixed media art is driven by a profound desire to tell stories that reflect the resilience and beauty of life, honoring the diverse experiences of those I collaborate with.

For me, storytelling isn’t just a profession; it’s a calling that bridges divides and fosters understanding. Photography, while central to my work, is just one of the many ways I engage with the world. I find inspiration in the rhythms of everyday life, seeking out the emotions and connections that resonate with us all. My approach is centered on ethical storytelling, ensuring that every narrative is told with respect and dignity, and that the voices and perspectives of those I work with are at the heart of the story.

Collaboration is key to my practice—I believe in working closely with those whose stories I share, creating space for their voices to be heard and understood. As I continue on this path, I look forward to exploring new narratives, deepening my commitment to cultural sensitivity and environmental stewardship, and creating work that connects on a deeply human level. While I may not change the world, I hope that through my art, I can shift perspectives and inspire empathy—and that is enough for me.
